Erica Eriksdotter was born and raised in Sweden and sold her first painting at the age of 10. She remember getting her first easel at seven and finishing watercolor landscapes while on the phone with her girlfriends in her teens. "Painting has always been a part of my life. There was never a start or a beginning; it has just always been there." Read more...

"I cannot thank you enough, I love it more than words can say. This beautiful painting transports me back to my wedding day, when I held those fragrant flowers in my hand before walking down the aisle. More than a simple photo ever could, this painting will forever capture that precious moment for me. In your painting, I swear the bouquet is even more beautiful than I remember."

I look at the photos at least twice a day and I can't wait for it to arrive so I can hang it on my wall and look at it all day long!

"We are both absolutely blown away every time we look at the painting. It looks exactly like her bouquet. The use of the gray/blue background really makes all the colors of the flowers pop. They are so crisp. You really nailed it and we are so happy we will have this to display in our home for years and years!"
- Scott from Denver, Colorado.

Original Painting: Single Tulip

{Single Tulip - original painting by Erica Eriksdotter}

Those of you who have watched the time lapse video of me working on this piece, this painting is no surprise since it's the featured star. Nor does it come as a surprise to you who have seen my "Paintings a Day" pieces as this is a larger art work of "Me, Myself and I."

Isn't it fabulous in all its grand? I just couldn't help myself. I love the colors in this painting and they have cheered me up immensely since I started working on it and now, seeing it finished leaning against the wall in my studio.

Single Tulip is a painting of a yellow and green tulip stretching tall in the sky with white green leaves following close behind. This painting oozes strength. You stand a little taller when you view it. This tulip is proud and it has embraced its flowing beauty. It owns it.

{What a great combination yellow, green and aqua green are together.
There are some good energy going on in this piece}

Single Tulip is a 40 x 30 inches original acrylic. It's painted on 1.5 inches deep gallery wrapped canvas and the light and dark shades of the aqua green background spreads on to all the sides of the painting.

The perspective is very similar to Calla Me and with them being the same size, they would undeniably look great together, don't you think?

{Single Tulip and Calla Me as a pair. Don't they work well together? Which one is your favorite?}

If you haven't viewed the time-lapse video of me working on this please, click here to go to my YouTube channel. Hopefully there will be many more in the future.

xo,
e.
