Erica Eriksdotter was born and raised in Sweden and sold her first painting at the age of 10. She remember getting her first easel at seven and finishing watercolor landscapes while on the phone with her girlfriends in her teens. "Painting has always been a part of my life. There was never a start or a beginning; it has just always been there." Read more...

"I cannot thank you enough, I love it more than words can say. This beautiful painting transports me back to my wedding day, when I held those fragrant flowers in my hand before walking down the aisle. More than a simple photo ever could, this painting will forever capture that precious moment for me. In your painting, I swear the bouquet is even more beautiful than I remember."

I look at the photos at least twice a day and I can't wait for it to arrive so I can hang it on my wall and look at it all day long!

"We are both absolutely blown away every time we look at the painting. It looks exactly like her bouquet. The use of the gray/blue background really makes all the colors of the flowers pop. They are so crisp. You really nailed it and we are so happy we will have this to display in our home for years and years!"

When art touches your heart

{Newly framed "Fancy a Cup of Tea?" – original acrylic by Erica Eriksdotter}

People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did.
But, people will not forget how you made them feel.
- Maya Angelou

I always say an original painting is so much more than paint on a canvas. Art can be very powerful sometimes and can touch us deeply. I received this lovely note from an admirer who had just viewed the "Fancy a cup of Tea?":

"…These paintings are so lovely, and so, well, perfect. They're like heirloom quality. /---/ When I look at this one, it instantly gives me the feeling like it was handed down to me, like something I treasure from someone I love. I'm not really an art aficionado, so I can't put my finger on it, but you're capturing and sharing something special here. Something magical. You need to keep doing this, and never hold back."

{art is powerful. it's amazing how a painting of a tea cup can trigger so many emotions}

I later found out that the painting had really struck a chord with him because the teacup in the painting reminded him so much of his Grandmother and Great Grandmother, both passed away. He misses them dearly and he was reminded by their love and could feel that love when viewing this piece.

I can only hope my art touches people in some way, and his deep emotions is a less common reaction. Most will tell me how happy it is and how wonderful they feel around my art. I was touched that he felt it important to encourage me to keep going. He seemed to get how important I feel my passion is. It is an amazing feeling when my passion and level of commitment is recognized by an admirer.
