“Sunflower in Purple Sky” is an original acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas. It measures 8×10 inches and is 1.5 inches deep. This is the 6rd of 10 paintings during this “Painting a Day” event.
Oh my, what a treat it was to paint this one. I find sunflowers so joyful and soothing, and they bring a sense of comfort to me. I’ve done a few close ups of sunflowers before (here, here and here) but never from this angle, which I absolutely love. I have to say, the purple background adds such a delight to this painting!
The background color continues in various shades of purple on to all the sides, the darkest being the one you see in the above photo. Since all sides are painting, this piece can hang on the wall with or without a frame.
The painting is signed on the front and signed, titled and dated on the back. I will package it carefully for protection and ship it via USPS.
