Erica and Sasha - original pet portrait by Erica Eriksdotter

It’s stunning! – M.S. of Virginia

Sasha’s Portrait is an original painting commissioned by a woman in Virginia who wanted to surprised her husband with something special for his birthday and this lovely dog had been his for many years. Unfortunately, she passed away a few years ago. My client came to last year’s Open Studio Event and saw a pet portrait I was working on and knew this was what she wanted to give.

“Sasha’s Portrait” measures 14×18 inches (36x46cm) and is painted on a 1.5 inch (4cm) gallery wrapped canvas.

I kept feeling this midnight blue color when I started working on Sasha and since my client gave me free range I went for it, even though Sasha was a girl. I often connect with the animal’s energy and usually follow my instinct unless the client want a specific color. I love the gradient look of this midnight blue. Doesn’t it make her shine? I’m sure she is much deserving of shining.

Very very interested.  Could you give me a price range?
