Pet portrait of a french bulldog by artist Erica Eriksdotter

Thank you so very much for the best gift I have ever received. Although Cocoa has been gone for almost two years now, your art brought her to life. Thanks so much and bless you always. – D.W. of Maryland

Cocoa’s portrait is custom original acrylic painting commissioned by a client in North Carolina as a Christmas gift for her Mother. Their beloved family dog recently passed away and she wanted to surprise her with this lovely keepsake. When the daughter saw the portrait for the first time she shared this with me:

“It brought tears to my eyes. My mom will adore it. I can “feel” her fur just by looking at the painting. We miss our Cocoa and will forever cherish this painting!” – L.M. of South Carolina

My client and I decided on the red/burgundy color of Cocoa’s collar as the background color. I think it works well to highlight her fur and adds more sentimental emotion to the piece since they saw her in that collar every day.

The painting measures 12 x 12 inches / and is painted on a 1.5 inch (4 cm) deep gallery wrapped canvas. All sides are painted with the background color.
