A snowy Mall infront of the Capital. We headed downtown to a very snowy DC this past weekend to enjoy the “Power of Chocolate” at the National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI). The event promised exploring the culture of chocolate, the art and science behind it and of course tastings! I don’t know about you, but I could eat chocolate for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day for the rest of my life.

Unfortunately, the chocolate event had been cut short so instead of indulging in delicious chocolate, we visited the Brian Jungen exhibit Strange Comfort and watched Peruvian scissor dancers compete in endurance, acrobatics and creativity.

What about the chocolate? Luckily for me and Casey, our friends gave us homemade chocolate cupcakes and we also got to try “Fry Bread” – a dough puffed like a giant doughnut without a hole in the middle, drizzled with honey, cinnamon and powdered sugar. Yum.
