Inspired by a friend, I decided to join in on #GivingTuesday. Today is all about giving back, and global charities, families, businesses, community centers, students and more will come together to create #GivingTuesday. Let’s see how much noise we can make by telling everyone you can about how you are giving.
I decided to use Kiva.org. Enter Sylvia from Uganda. I loaned her $25 to help her buy a business-in-a-box (a smartphone, a solar charging set and a weighing scale). This will help her disseminate vital agricultural information to the other members in her village, helping them improve their crop yields and increase their income. With the additional money she earns as a CKW she hope to start a small business. Her biggest dream is to provide her children with a good education. Kiva is a non-profit organization that connects people through lending to alleviate poverty. So I can lend people across the world money to help create opportunities around the world. It can make a huge difference in someone’s life.
