Birthday morning envelope 2013

Today’s my birthday! Instead of my alarm clock, I woke up to this envelope on my nightstand. In it, my hubby asked me to join me downstairs as he was making chocolate chip pancakes, bacon, orange juice and lattes! Yum.  The note also said, I’d open gift on the patio when I arrived home from work and then we’re heading to a Pearl Dive Oyster Palace for dinner.

A traditional Swedish birthday celebration - turning 18!

This is what it looked like 15 years ago today. I turned 18. This is the traditional Swedish birthday celebration where you are celebrated with gifts, flowers etc. first thing in the morning. Ideally, you should still be sleeping while the family is walking in to your room singing “Jamå hon leva”

Some bonds never really leave us.
They simply find new ways to stay close.
