Pet portrait of a french bulldog by artist Erica Eriksdotter

The painting is beautiful and it captured him perfectly. My daughter and I both teared up when we saw it. My husband loved it! Thank you so much for a gorgeous painting! – A.K. of Virginia

Berkley’s Portrait is custom original acrylic painting of a Boxer commissioned by a client in Virginia who owns several of my original paintings already, and is an avid supporter and follower since seeing my work in person at an art show at Occoquan, Virginia. This past Christmas, she wanted give her husband a special gift and reached out to me in the late Summer to place her order.

She shared with me that when she and her husband moved in together, they had to give away his two dogs because she was so severely allergic to them. It broke both their hearts to give up their darling pets. Luckily, the dogs ended up in happy homes. Since then, Berkley, this beautiful and very loving boxer, has passed away and she wanted to memorialize him in this special way.

Berkley loved the water so my client wanted to pay homage to that in background color. The blue and the golden brown color of Berkley’s fur just works so well together. Don’t you think?

I had so many commissions leading up to Christmas I finished this painting only a few days before Christmas. It was my last painting of the year, and I was debating if I should deliver it in person to make sure it arrived on time. Then I remembered that overnight delivery with FedEx would get it there on time – and sure enough, it arrived safe and sound right on time.

He looks ready to jump out of that painting from far away! He is so stunning. What a handsome boxer.

The painting measures 12 x 12 inches and is painted on a 1.5 inch (4 cm) deep gallery wrapped canvas. All sides are painted with the background color.
