“You’ve captured Bonnie very well and it’s great! Thank you so much for your hard work on this. My daughter will be thrilled.” – M.G. of Virginia.

I love this face. What a warm and loving face, with eyes that can melt your troubles away. Bonnie Blue was commissioned by a Mother for her daughter, Courtney, as a Christmas gift. She had booked me several months in advance to make sure I had time to fit her in. Bonnie Blue had passed away last summer and my client wanted to capture her lovely soul on canvas because it was a dog that the whole family had loved very much. A beautiful way to remember a beautiful dog.

Her daughter sent me this lovely note after receiving it: “I keep sitting down to tell you how much I love it — but there really aren’t words. You did a beautiful job.” – C.G. of Virginia.

Bonnie Blue was a special dog. She was Courtney’s first rescue dog as a junior in high school and inspired her to start the Bonnie Blue Rescue, an East Coast based animal rescue group, in 2009. Since then, Courtney has rescued nearly 700 dogs, pulling them from shelters in Southern cities where adoption rates are low, and trasporting them to the Northeast where they’re easier to place with families. Her hard work was recently recognized as one of Richmond’s 2012 Top 40 Under 40.

It was a true honor to paint such an amazing dog who has been the inspiration behind saving so many lives. I often donate to this organization and sometimes auction off paintings where 50% of the proceeds goes to Bonnie Blue Rescue.

The painting measures 10×10 inches and is on a 1.5 inches deep gallery wrapped canvas. The background color (blue of course!) spreads onto all sides of the painting.
