{Kate’s Bridal Bouquet – original acrylic painting by Erica Eriksdotter}

“Thank you so much for your amazing work. The painting is absolutely gorgeous and it’s almost 3D – the flowers just pop off of the canvas. My wife was ecstatic and we’re so thrilled we can’t wait to commission another piece.” – E.S. of Seattle, WA.

This painting was ordered by a husband for his wife for their second wedding anniversary earlier this month. He saw my work featured on StyleMePretty.com and reached out to me early this year to book me. He sent me several photos of the bouquet that I could work off of. We coordinated the shipping so it would arrive after they came back from a vacation and I had sent him professional photos of it so he could show them to her on their actual anniversary. Sweet.

These colors made me really happy to work with. I never fancied pink growing up but now I’m all about it. And what a stunner this bouquet is. I agree with my client, it really does “pop off of the canvas.” I had free range with the background color and chose to play off of the craft string that was tied to the bouquet. I really think the light gray compliments the strong fucia and purple colors really well. What do you think?

Such a cool piece.

Most of my bridal bouquets takes about 50 hours to make. Maybe even more. There are a lot of layers to a piece like this one and as you can see, a lot of detailes. It’s very important to me that I make an accurate portrayal of the bouquet, both in terms of the flowers and the colors, while still play artistically.

Kate’s Bridal Bouquet” measures 18×18 inches and is painted on a 1.5 inches deep gallery wrapped canvas. The background color spreads onto all sides.
