Pet portrait of a french bulldog by artist Erica Eriksdotter

I couldn’t resist painting this little diva. A client sent in a photo of her parents dog, Lucy, and she really came alive on the canvas, don’t you think? She was fun to paint.

Lucy was wearing a red collar in the photo I worked off of, but instead of painting it I included the as a background color. It seemed to fit her personality really well and it definitely complimented her fur in the painting. I’m pleased.
