I met Suzanne and her lovely husband at the Occoquan Spring Festival a few weeks ago. Suzanne had been in my booth on the first day and fallen in love with the idea of getting her bridal bouquet done as an original painting. She brought her husband back to show him the idea the next day and was very excited to get the ball rolling.

At first, Suzanne had her eye on a square painting but since her bouquet was full of cascading flowers, she trusted my suggestion that the rectangular canvas would be a better choice to highlight her bouquet more. As for the background color, she wanted the soft pink wedding color her bridesmaid wore. I was a little nervous the soft pink wouldn’t let the white flowers stand out enough against the light background but it worked out really well.

This is one of three photos I worked off of that Suzanne kindly sent me in the mail. Her beautiful cascading wedding bouquet was made up by white calla lilies, white roses, white stephanotis and some greenery.

And this is the finished painting!

Suzanne’s bridal bouquet painting measures 24 x 18 inches and is 1.5 inches deep.

The painting looks wonderful!! It looks even better than I thought it would!
