I must be longing for a trip to Sweden and its very short but oh-so-sweet summer. Soft and peaceful, this painting is so lovely to me and reminds me of where I grew up but also of the fields in the more southern parts of Sweden. If you listen closely, you can almost hear kids walking on the imaginary gravel road next to the field. Maybe it’s the kids from Astrid Lindgren’s story “Alla Vi Barn I Bullerbyn?”

Swedish Summer” is a smaller acrylic painting on stretched gallery wrapped canvas. It measures 16in x 12in (40.6 x 30.5cm) and is 1.5 inches deep (3.8cm). The sides are painted white.
