{Yellow June – original acrylic by Erica Eriksdotter}

Another original is done! YAY! I’m so happy I was able to get this colorful piece done in time for next weekend’s show in Gaithersburg, MD. If you are an avid follower of the blog or the studio’s facebook page, you may have caught this video recently which shows this painting half finished in the background.

Yellow June is an original acrylic that measures 40 x 30 inches and is 1.5 inches (102 x 76 x 3.8 cm). It’s a close up of a yellow parrot tulip with shades of orange. The background is green and all sides are painted with the same color. It’s signed on the front and dated and signed on the back.

It’s a very colorful and bold piece and actually not much smaller than the Large Purple Fringed Tulip (36×48). This photo from my diningroom shows of the scale of it. I was running out of time yesterday and didn’t have time to remove my half-finished dining room set which I usually do (sorry honey, I’ll finish the set this summer…promise!).

Art buying is a personal experience and it’s sometimes difficult to picture original paintings you see at a show or online in your own home. For many, original paintings is a big step and a commitment (definitely grown-up points!), but that’s why I like showing photos like this because it’s easier to picture it in your own home then. Don’t you think? It helps the imagination along.

I recently staged a home and when the owners of the house saw the pieces on the walls they loved them so much they bought several of them. I’d do this by request for everyone who is interested in a piece or several, or can’t decide between a couple of them. I love spreading joy with my art so it’s important to me that the owner is happy with the piece(s).

Today I’ll be working on getting prints of my tulip series and this guy. Don’t forget I’m offering FREE SHIPPING on all prints and note cards from my Etsy shop. It’s the first time I’m offering free shipping and it’s valid until tomorrow at Noon.

xo,
Erica
