The Swedish H.R.H Princess Lilian passed away Sunday, March 10, and today royals from all of Europe is attending her funeral which is airing live on Swedish TV. She was the wife of the King’s late uncle Prince Bertil and their love and devotion to eachother and the royal family will always be remembered – she waited 33 years to marry him!
Because the current King took over the throne at such an early age (his father died in an airplane crash when he was only 1 year), I only grew up seeing his ungle Prince Bertil and Princess Lilian as the older generation. And because she was the same age as my own grandmother, I kinda saw her as the grandmother of the nation. She last appeared in public in 2008.
