This is what the current painting looks like after only the first layer.

I always start my painting by sketching it out on the canvas, just the outline. In this case I’m trying to stay with the same shape (though smaller scale) as the other two Closed Tulips I’ve done.

The next step is to loosly put the first layer on… not too much, just so I can see and feel where the colors should go, which is what I’ve done here.

The colors will be enhanced as will the details to create a finished look like here and here. Though, I may chose a different background color this time.
