Two Birds on a Wire - Spring Art Auction 2013, left

I absolutely love this painting. I find it so peaceful, even with the dark and intense background. This is another “wire” painting which, with this piece, has become it’s on little series. What do you see when you view this painting? What do you think the story is behind these two birds?

This must be one of my favorites ever, and I based this painting off a photograph by Larry Mayran, who is an avid bird and wildlife photographer.

Two Birds on a Wire - Spring Art Auction 2013, right

Two Birds on a Wire measures 12×12 inches and is painted on a 1.5 inches deep gallery wrapped canvas (30 x 30 x 4cm), and is the largest painting in the Spring Art Auction 2013. The background is a stark contrast to the birds and my usual pieces. It started with a light purple background (which Ill share in the behind the scene post later today) but I felt it needed something more intense, that still managed to have a calm feel to it. It takes on a gradient of going from black to gray tones. It’s ready to hang as is.

Once the bidding is over and this painting has a winner, I will ship it via USPS Priority Mail or US Priority International Mail Globally. It will be packaged very carefully.
