DAY 20: SKYLINE continued

Welcome to Day 20!

Wow! Can you believe we’re almost done?

I’m so excited to go live with you tomorrow at 1 p.m. Easter Time U.S. for a group painting session where we’ll paint the last subject together and I’ll share my top tips for keeping the creative momentum going.

Check your Day 21 email or Day 21 here in the portal for the link to join me LIVE. If you can’t make it live you’ll be able to access the recording here through June 30.

Guiding you through this Painting Challenge has been an honor. I’ve witnessed joy, gratitude and much needed wellbeing happening among the challenge takers. Helping you establish a painting practice that nurtures, inspires and connects you to your own creativity, and guide you to a new source of meditative joy and self-care is been an absolute delight and sincere honor for me.

Now it’s time to continue the momentum and share your joy to support the world around you. You are needed, my friend, and the world needs your art. Let’s spread some joy with your beautiful light with today’s challenge.

If yesterday’s challenge was to not finish your painting, today’s challenge is to pick up the momentum from yesterday, hone in on your next step and finish your version of the Skyline subject.

The Painting Practice

Remember to turn off your phone notifications before you start.

  1. Choose your colors: Today we’re focusing on painting the row of houses first, then adding the finishing touches of the sky if needed. As I mentioned yesterday, my painting depicts a summer night in Sweden when the sun barely sets with hints of the Northern Lights. That’s why my row of houses are painted as a silhouette. Your row of houses can be different from mine to fit the scene your painting. Your houses can be crisp lines or messy. Follow the whispers of inspiration. You always have the option to change direction in the middle of a painting.
  2. Grab some new clean water and your brushes, and don’t forget a towel to clean off your wet brush. If you’re painting dark or black houses, please get some clean water before you return to finishing your sky or paint with any lighter color hues as it will stain your new blend.
  3. Now, set a gentle timer and paint for 20 minutes for some meditative joy and playful painting.
  4. Savor in the moment when you sign your painting. This is your creation. Be proud of yourself for starting and stopping and starting again to finish this painting that is yours. You did this while tapping into the meditative joy of this painting practice. Allow the act of painting to be easy.

SHARE YOUR CREATION:

Take a photo of your finished challenge and share in our Facebook Group. How did it feel to pick up the brush and tap into the momentum from yesterday? How has your 19 days of challenges supported you to continue today? Let me know when you share your painting.

If you feel called to continue painting past 20 minutes, please do so and let us know when you share it.
