Emily’s Pet Portrait

BY ERICA ERIKSDOTTER

Emily was initially my client’s mother’s dog. When her mother passed away, 11 years ago, she ‘inherited’ Emily. When my client saw the feature about my pet portraits in the Washington Post, she knew she wanted to honor Emily and the love she’d shared with both her and her mother.

Emily always wore a little cute ponytail, tied with a pretty ribbon and we decided to pick a color of a ribbon and pay homage in a way to something that was ‘so Emily’.

LOVE NOTE

“I cannot stop staring into Emily‘s eyes. Absolutely mesmerizing. All I can do not to cry.”
