Rook’s Pet Portrait

BY ERICA ERIKSDOTTER

Rook’s Pet Portrait is a custom original acrylic painting of a Saint Berdoodle. It was commissioned by the winners of the silent auction at “Chairish the Future” a fundraising gala by Furniture Bank of Metro Atlanta assisting families moving out of homelessness and fleeing domestic violence. Rook was a delight to paint. What a joy this big puppy is. The customer wanted to incorporate their love for Chicago into the painting. Rook wears a scarf of the Chicago flag around his neck so we picked the blue hue from the flag, and added the orange stars on the left side (because her husband is a lefty!). What a great way to add even more meaning, layers of a story and shared history to an already special commission.
